The best robot vacuum for pet hair self-emptying bagless Self-Empting Robot Vacuum Bagless Cleaners

Shoppers who are enthralled by this self-emptying robot vacuum say it's strong enough to handle pet hair, dirt, dust and other floor types. It comes with three cleaning stages and can be scheduled through the mobile app or voice control using smart speakers.

It's costly however, this upgrade to a standard robotic vacuum is worth it. It has a large bin that needs to be empty every 30 to 60 days.

1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO features two flexible multi-surface brushrolls made of rubber and is designed to eliminate all kinds of debris off unfinished floors. It works well on hard floors and is excellent to sweep up dust and larger particles but it struggles a bit with pet hair. It is also able to blow particles like kosher salt or kitty litter, which require another pass.

It has a Clean/Power button in the middle, and Home and Spot Clean buttons on either side. The light ring surrounding the Clean/Power button is solid white when it's charged, it flashes red when the battery level is low, and then shines bright blue when it searches for its Clean Base (more below).

When a room's cleaning is complete and the robot returns to its base, docking and automatically dumping the contents of its internal dustbin into the Clean Base for self-emptying. You can also manually empty the bin once it's full, but that takes time and will require you to remove the dustbin and clean its filter.

In our tests, this robot had outstanding suction on both hard floors and carpeting. Its mapping system is smart and is superior to other models', storing multiple maps and offering many functions that include an automated and custom-designed cleaning. It doesn't let you to create Keep-Out Zones, or clean specific rooms on demand This is a must for spaces that span more than one level. To get that feature, you may prefer the Roborock Q5+ instead, which has a superior smart-mapping system and provides more customization options within its easy-to-use app.

2. Shark Matrix

Shark The robot vacuum division of SharkNinja (a home appliance conglomerate) is a relative newcomer in this field. However, the company has risen quickly in popularity due to offering an extensive selection of affordable robots with relatively premium-grade quality of construction. The Matrix is their most popular model. It's a robust, whole-home cleaner with incredible suction and smart features.

The Shark Matrix comes with a self-emptying station that automatically empties the bag after each clean, avoiding the inconvenience of changing it manually. The Shark Matrix like all Shark robots can be programmed to operate according to a set schedule or remotely activated using voice commands. It also uses cliff sensor to avoid falling down a flight of stairs, and optical encoders for measuring the extent to which it has been cleaned.

The Matrix is a fantastic choice to anyone looking for a midrange robotic vacuum. It might not have the advanced vSLAM map that is found in the Roomba S9 but it still offers a lot. Its cleaning path is effective even on carpeted floors and provides an adequate amount of dirt pickup on all surfaces. It also boasts a slightly more powerful cleaning head than the S9 and self-cleaning brushrolls that are perfect for pet hair.

The only drawback is that Shark's app can be frustratingly sluggish and unreliable especially when it is used in conjunction with a robot. The iRobot HOME app however, is unequivocally more user-friendly and reliable.

3. IRobot i3 Roomba

The Roomba i3 is our favorite robot vacuum model that is bagless intelligent robot due to its impressive performance on floors that are not bare and its high-end construction. It is well-built, can navigate around obstacles with ease, and charges quickly. It has a large dustbin that can be easily empty.

This model does not have top mounted cameras that can detect objects or search for features that are unique. Certain of its top models do. Instead, it employs downward-facing optical sensors to see obstacles when they arise and then creates an image of your floor plan as it goes through cleaning cycles, and is attentive to internal sensors such as wheel odometers and gyroscopes. iRobot’s Genius update, which brings smart mapping to the robot without increasing its price it allows you to control it through the iRobot app or your voice assistant to clean specific areas.

When this Roomba is soiled--and it can be instructed to do this by the app or its docking station itself--it returns to its base and automatically emptys its internal trash bin into the larger external one. The docking station and the robot communicate via beacons to ensure they're in close proximity prior to the robot's start of cleaning.

You can also use the iRobot app to schedule cleanings, or your voice assistant to conduct spot-cleaning of any area that requires a quick fix. The dual rubber multi-surface brushrolls pull in dirt, pet hair, and other hard-to-clean debris from hard-to-reach places. Its sensor that is reactive means you don't have to manually adjust the head height or suction power. If you prefer a more customizable experience, however, you should check out the Shark iQ Plus or Roborock S6 MaxV.

Roomba from iRobot

This vacuum cleaner is among the top in terms of self-emptying. It comes with a dirt compartment that automatically emptys into the robot's base once it is it's full. It uses the patented Dirt Detect Technology to help it identify and clean the dirtiest areas in the room. Its dual multi-surface rubber brush can flex to fit the floor's surface and help take away stubborn dirt. This is coupled with a suction system that picks up and retains dirt and dust, as well as a mopping solution tank that releases liquid to thoroughly clean your floor.

It's an excellent choice for floors that are unfinished and is even a great option in a small amount of carpet that is low-pile. It's not able to clean pet hair as effectively as other models and may struggle with large debris such as cereal as the dirt bin fills. It is also limited in its maneuverability and could get tangled with things like electrical cords or rug tassels. Its battery life is good and it charges fairly quickly, though.

The iRobot Combo i5 goes to the next stage by adding mopping capabilities. The robot can be immediately transformed into a multi-surface mop/vacuum robotic by swapping out the included Roomba Combo cleaner bin. It navigates rooms in neat rows and can be guided by the iRobot app or by voice commands when connected to smart assistant devices.

It is better in cleaning floors with no floor and low-pile carpet than the iRobot Roomba E5 and has an allergen-trapping HEPA filter. It's not as smart as the Shark AI Robot, and it has more parts to clean regularly. It feels more durable and has a longer battery life, but costs more to run.

5. Roomba iRobot i7 from iRobot

The Roomba i7 is unique in that it has an automatic dirt disposal system built into its base. When it's docked, the hose on the Clean Base automatically suctions debris from the bin of the robot into a proprietary bag called Smart Maps by iRobot. It's a simple, clean method of emptying the robot vacuum's bin. You don't have to lift the old bin and let it fly around (which could result in small dust explosions). However, it adds some operating cost to owning this top-rated model. You'll have to replace the bag each time it gets full. They're inexpensive, however you might be hesitant about throwing them away.

You can begin cleaning your space right away after pairing the i7+ to its Clean Base, or you can instruct it to perform some exploratory runs without vacuuming first to make an outline of your floor. Once you have a bagless floor cleaners map, you can make use of the iRobot app to label rooms, create virtual barriers, establish dedicated cleaning times for specific rooms, and much more.
